What is the Cayman Brac Bluff

In the Cayman Island, you shall find abundant limestone ridges that are present here and there. They are together known as Brac. The word “Brac” is a Gaelic term that is used for bluff. Bluff is in fact a limestone crest that increases steadily from the west down the center of the island to 140 ft towards eastern tip. It actually sculpts the setting into different vistas carved with caves and covered with a startling variety of flora and fauna. You may have a splendid view of the bluff from the lighthouse. You can also explore the enticing caves which contain sinkholes, or have a walk along the woodlands replete with exotic flowers and splendid birds.

Frigate birds, brown boobies, peregrine falcons and the rare Cayman Brac parrot are found abundantly in the island. It was Christopher Columbus who discovered this place in the year 1503. The word Cayman is derived from the word Carib which means crocodiles. If you have a passion for diving, then this would be one of the best possible spots for you. Rock climbing in this island has developed rapidly on this island for the past few years. Tourists flock here to explore the beauty of this island. It is regarded as a Cayman National Heritage Site.
